İki dillilik işitme duyusunu geliştirir

İki dil konuşan insanlar daha iyi duyarlar. Bu insanlar değişik sesleri birbirinden daha iyi ayırt edebiliyorlar. Bu sonuca bir Amerikan bilimsel çalışma varmıştır. Araştırmacılar, gençler üzerinde deneme yapmışlardır. Deneklerin bir bölümü iki dilli olarak büyümüşler. Bu gençler İngilizce ve İspanyolca konuşabiliyorlardı. Diğer denenen kişiler sadece İngilizce konuşuyorlardı. Bu genç insanlara belirli bir heceyi dinlettiler. Bu da ,,da‘‘ hecesiydi. Bu hece her iki dile de ait değildi. Hece, deneklere kulaklık aracılığı ile dinletildi. Bunu yaparken beyin aktiviteleri elektrotlar aracılığı ile ölçülüyordu. Bu test sonrasında gençlere bu hece tekrar dinletildi. Yalnız bu sefer birçok rahatsızlık verici sesler de eşlik ediyordu. Bunlar mantıksız cümlelerden ibaret seslerdi. İki dilliler hecelere yoğun bir tepki verdiler. Beyinleri de büyük bir aktivite göstermekteydi. Bunlar heceyi rahatsız eden seslerle de onlarsız da tam olarak algılayabiliyorlardı. Tek dilli denekler ise bunu başaramadılar. Onların işitme duyusu diğerleri gibi iyi değildi. Bu deneyin sonucu araştırmacıları çok şaşırttı. Şimdiye kadar sadece müzisyenlerin işitme duyusunun iyi olduğu bilinmekteydi. Görülen o ki iki dillilik de işitmeyi çalıştırmaktadır. İki dilliler sürekli değişik sesler ile karşı karşıya kalırlar. Bu yüzden de beyinleri yeni yetenekler geliştirmek zorundadır. Ve böylece değişik dilsel dürtüleri ayırt etmeyi öğrenir. Araştırmacılar artık dilbilgisinin dili nasıl etkilediğini araştırıyorlar. Belki işitme duyusu ilerde dil öğreniminden de faydalanmaktadır…
